The store you know and love is growing and changing! We feel that it is time to have our name reflect our changes while giving a nod to Lecompton’s history.
“Recollections” is now (drumroll, please) “Bald Eagle Mercantile!”
Please join us October 18, 19, and 20, Friday from 10-7pm, Saturday and Sunday from 10-3pm for our Grand Re-Opening! Enjoy specials throughout the store! Celebrate our new name with us!
Why “Bald Eagle Mercantile?” Because, being so close to the beautiful Kansas River, we love the experience of seeing bald eagles overhead. Plus, before our town was named “Lecompton,” it briefly had the name “Bald Eagle.” The name is part of our history!
-Come visit from 4-7pm to see a special pop-up shop in Recollections-
-Featuring the amazing local artist Monteserena Arts: Jessica Ratzlaff-
Recollections is hosting a special Easter pop-up shop in the evening of April 19th from 4-7pm. Come see all of the beautiful Easter eggs and Spring decorations hand-created by Jessica Ratzlaff. Jessica has been selling her creations on the website Etsy to people all over the world since 2012. It is a rare treat for us to be able to see and purchase her items in person. You don’t want to miss this opportunity!
Some of the items that Jessica will be bringing are hand-dyed Easter eggs, bud vase buddies, and the very popular babies: Bigger Tiny Baby (3.5″), Tiny Baby or Tiny Baby Mermaid (1.75″) alone or in a Walnut cradle, and the Teeny Tiny Baby (.5″), alone or in an acorn cap cradle. Jessica will have babies in different colors and skin tones available.
Shop at Recollections on Friday evening on the 19th and eat dinner at Aunt Netters Cafe!
Come to Recollections on Sunday, March 31st from 1pm-2pm to support and congratulate Lecompton native, Teralyn Meyer. This talented teen is the author of a newly published book Squeak the Wannabee Squirrel. Tera will sign copies of her book and speak to the public. A limited amount of copies of her book will be available for purchase during the signing. Stop by to say “hello!”
Update: the book signing was great! Thanks so much to Tera and her mom, Karla, for coming!
Support our girls! Come to Recollections Saturday, March 9th for a great opportunity to score some Girl Scout cookies and support our local girls! From 11am-1pm, on March 9th come in and buy cookies directly from Girl Scout Troop 4184. They will have a table right inside the store!
Recollections is in Lecompton at 336 Elmore Street and is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday every weekend from 10am-3pm.
